OUR MININGÂ PROCESS
Shown Below
Blasting
Our team of licensed explosive professionals work full time to drill and blast salt from the deposit. Using a specialized machine called a Track Drill, each blast produces up to 5,000 tons of raw high quality salt and helps to form proper mining shelves which adhere to Chile's strict mining regulations.
Grading
All of our salt is hand graded to ensure the purest quality and whitest colored salt.
Crushing and Screening Plant
Our plant, shown in the photo, has a primary, secondary and tertiary crusher. Â It also has 2 large vibrating screens to ensure quality control. Â There is also a team of workers who specialize in grading the product to ensure quality control before the salt enters into the plant.
Inland Transportation
A crucial part of the operation is coordination of trucking to the port in Chile. Â A float of 15-25 trucks are working round the clock to deliver salt to the port for storage and eventual loading.
Quality Control - Inspection
Quality Control is the most important part of bulk commodities. Â We are constantly inspecting our product as it arrives to the port and then conduct a final inspection with an internationally certified inspection company at the moment of loading the vessel.
Ocean Shipping
It is very common for properly produced commodities to be damaged/degraded while being delivered to the end user. Allied Salt is both a salt producer and a shipping company. Our experience insures the highest level of protection of the product during shipping. Examples of protecting the cargo include application of special coatings on the cargo hold surfaces which shield the contact of the salt with the steel, of the ship. Loading and unloading only take place in favorable weather conditions.
Discharge and Warehousing
We specialize in arranging and managing off-loading our vessels with barge lightering, stevedoreing and indoor warehousing for our customers, no matter where the shipment is going.
